Simcoe Street bridge work detours DRT PULSE 901 and N2 from January 12, 2026 to December 30, 2027

Bridge work on Simcoe Street between Gibb Street and Bloor Street will detour Durham Region Transit’s PULSE 901 and route N2 from Monday, January 12, 2026, through Thursday, December 30, 2027. Service will shift to Gibb Street, Park Road and Bloor Street, with a temporary northbound stop just north of Gibb Street.

The detour affects stops on Simcoe Street within the construction zone for nearly two years, requiring riders to use stops on adjacent streets. Durham Region Transit posted the notice on December 23, 2025.

PULSE 901 will detour via Gibb Street, Park Road and Bloor Street for the duration.

Route N2 southbound will detour via Olive Avenue, Ritson Road and Bloor Street.

The following Simcoe Street stops will not be served during construction:

  • Stop #664 – Simcoe Street southbound @ Royal Street
  • Stop #665 – Simcoe Street southbound @ Mill Street
  • Stop #666 – Simcoe Street southbound @ First Avenue
  • Stop #667 – Simcoe Street southbound @ Bloor Street
  • Stop #668 – Simcoe Street northbound @ Bloor Street
  • Stop #669 – Simcoe Street northbound @ First Avenue
  • Stop #670 – Simcoe Street northbound @ Albany Street
  • Stop #671 – Simcoe Street northbound @ Royal Street
  • Stop #672 – Simcoe Street northbound @ Elm Street

A temporary stop will operate on Simcoe Street northbound just north of Gibb Street.

During the detour, all stops will be served on:

  • Gibb Street between Park Road and Simcoe Street
  • Park Road between Gibb Street and Bloor Street
  • Bloor Street between Park Road and Simcoe Street
