Soper Creek Trail Construction: Safety Measures and Detours

Construction on the Soper Creek Trail in Bowmanville will begin the week of August 12, 2024, and is expected to last approximately seven weeks. The construction will include the installation of a retaining wall, signage, amenities, and restorative landscaping. To ensure public safety, access to the Soper Creek Trail within the construction zone will be restricted. The construction access points will primarily be off Cotton Street and Sprucewood Crescent. Notices and signage will be provided before the closure to inform the public of the restricted areas. Pedestrian detour routes will be established, and fencing will be installed to mark the construction boundaries. The detour routes will be clearly identified with signage to guide pedestrians safely around the construction zone. Access to properties fronting Cotton Street and Sprucewood Crescent will be maintained at all times. Garbage and recycling pick-up, as well as mail deliveries, are not expected to be disrupted by the construction activities.
