Taunton Road closed between Townline and Enfield in Clarington, Oct. 25–Nov. 29 for culvert replacement

Durham Region will close Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) between Townline Road and Enfield Road in Clarington from October 25 to November 29 to remove and replace a concrete culvert, as part of the Taunton Road rehabilitation and reconstruction project.

The closure will detour traffic between Townline Road and Enfield Road while the culvert work is completed. The overall rehabilitation project is anticipated to be completed by summer 2026.

Detour signage will be in place for the duration of the closure. The schedule may change depending on weather conditions.

Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Residents will be notified if vehicles need to be moved out of driveways to accommodate the work.

Businesses along the corridor will remain open during construction. An overview of what businesses can expect during road work is available at durham.ca/OpenForBusiness.

Durham Region asks drivers to exercise caution in the area for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
