Thickson Road and Wentworth Street intersection in Whitby to close overnight May 30–31 for paving

Share

An overnight intersection closure is scheduled at Thickson Road and Wentworth Street in Whitby from approximately 7 p.m. on May 30 to approximately 7 a.m. on May 31 to allow surface asphalt paving, according to the Region of Durham.

The closure will affect travel through that intersection during the night and early morning hours, with drivers directed to a signed detour while paving work is underway.

The Region said traffic will be detoured onto Tricont Avenue and Forbes Street for the duration of the paving operations.

The work is planned overnight “to minimize traffic disruption,” the Region said, and unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

The Region is asking drivers to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
