Two Arrested in Oshawa After Police Stop Stolen Vehicle
Two people were arrested in Oshawa on Saturday, May 17, 2025, after police stopped a vehicle that had been reported as stolen. The incident took place at about 8:15 p.m. near Bloor Street East and Park Road South, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).
Authorities said that Central East Division officers were patrolling the area when their Automated Licence Plate Recognition system alerted them to a black Toyota Rav4 reported stolen. Officers then observed the vehicle travelling eastbound on Bloor Street East and conducted a traffic stop. Police reported that an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Oshawa, were taken into custody without incident.
DRPS identified the 18-year-old as Antonio Cabrera. Both he and the 16-year-old boy were charged with possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000 and released on an undertaking.
