Two People Die in Collision at Uxbridge Intersection

An 82-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man died after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sanford Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 6 in Uxbridge on Thursday, July 10, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). Police reported that officers from the North Division responded to the incident at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The collision resulted in a closure of the roadway for several hours while the DRPS Traffic Services Branch – Collision Investigation Unit conducted an investigation and collected evidence. The timing and location of the closure were provided by DRPS in their official statement.

According to DRPS, a dump truck was traveling eastbound on Sanford Road when it collided with a sedan that was traveling northbound on Uxbridge Concession Road 6. The 82-year-old woman, who was driving the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by first responders. The 77-year-old male passenger in the sedan was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police stated that the driver of the dump truck remained at the scene and was treated for minor injuries.
