Two People Found Deceased in Whitby Residence, Police Investigating

Durham Regional Police responded to a sudden death call at a residence near Fallingbrook Street and Taunton Road East in Whitby on the morning of August 6, 2025. Police said a 62-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were found deceased at the scene, and two other individuals from the residence were transported to a local hospital.

Police stated that Whitby Fire Services conducted tests for environmental hazards in the area, and the area was deemed safe. The investigation is ongoing, and police said there is no threat to public safety at this time.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on the two deceased individuals, according to police. Police did not provide additional details about the incident in their release.
