Two westbound lanes diverted on Bloor Street West in Oshawa during watermain break repair

Two westbound lanes on Bloor Street West in Oshawa have been diverted into the centre lane because of a watermain break west of the Stevenson Road South intersection, Durham Region says. The lane restrictions started May 22 and will remain in place until the repair is complete.

The Regional Municipality of Durham says the repair work may also affect water service for people in the area, with possible temporary water interruptions or reduced water pressure during the repair.

According to Durham Region, the lane restrictions apply on Bloor Street West from Stevenson Road South to Oxford Street, and from Park Road South and Oxford Street to Sinclair Avenue.

Durham Region said customers who experience a water interruption should run a cold-water tap for about five to 10 minutes after service returns to normal to clear sediment, to help keep sediment from entering hot-water systems.

Durham Region is asking drivers to use caution in the area around pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews while repairs continue.
