Victim Services of Durham Region to Hold Free Online Sex Trafficking Prevention Workshop on May 29
Victim Services of Durham Region is holding a free, live online training session on sex trafficking education and prevention on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The session will be conducted virtually using Zoom.
According to Victim Services of Durham Region, the session is open to parents, caregivers, and community members interested in learning how to prevent youth from being trafficked.
The organization states that the Sex Trafficking Education and Prevention (STEP) Program will provide information on how human trafficking occurs in Durham Region, how youth may be recruited or lured, and what makes youth vulnerable. The training will also cover how to recognize if youth are being trafficked, review principles of online safety, and suggest ways to discuss these topics with youth.
Kate Moore, Human Trafficking Prevention Facilitator at Victim Services of Durham Region, is scheduled to lead the workshop.
