What’s Open and Closed in Clarington on Easter Weekend, April 18 to 21, 2025

A municipal release indicates that Clarington residents should expect adjusted schedules and closures over the upcoming Easter weekend, which spans Friday, April 18 through Monday, April 21, 2025. The announcement details that several municipal services and facilities will not be available on certain days, while a handful of locations will accommodate advanced voting.

According to the release, the Municipal Administrative Centre and the Clarington Animal Shelter will be closed on Good Friday, April 18, and again on Monday, April 21. On April 18, all recreation programs are cancelled, and most recreation facilities are not scheduled to open for their usual activities. However, the document notes that Diane Hamre Recreation Complex, South Courtice Arena, and Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex will be available from April 18 to 21, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., solely for advanced voting purposes.

On Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, the release indicates that facilities typically open during weekend hours plan to operate on their regular schedules. Scheduled programs will also go ahead as usual on these two days. The Animal Shelter is reported to open on Saturday but remains closed on Sunday.

On Monday, April 21, the Municipal Administrative Centre and the Animal Shelter are listed as closed. Other recreation facilities resume weekday programs unless otherwise noted under the advanced voting arrangement, which concludes on the evening of April 21. After voting ends, the affected recreation complexes return to their standard schedules.

All closure and schedule details are attributed to the municipal government’s announcement. Residents planning to use municipal services are advised to review these Easter weekend changes when preparing for the holiday period.
