Whitby Festival Causes July 26 Transit Detours for Pulse 900 and Route 302

Durham Region Transit (DRT) has announced that Pulse 900 and Route 302 bus services in downtown Whitby will be detoured on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The changes are due to a road closure during the Whitby Home Sweet Home Festival.

According to DRT, this detour will affect the normal routing and stop access for both routes throughout the day. Temporary stops will be available. All regular stops inside the closure area will not be served. All stops along the detour route and temporary stops will continue to operate during the closure.

DRT states that for Pulse 900, buses will detour via Henry Street, Burns Street, and Garden Street. Stops on Dundas Street between Henry Street and Garden Street will not be served during the detour. Temporary stops for Pulse 900 will be located at:

  • Burns Street, westbound and eastbound, at Brock Street
  • Dundas Street, westbound, west of Henry Street
  • Henry Street, southbound, south of Dundas Street
  • Garden Street, southbound, south of Dundas Street

For Route 302, buses will operate via Burns Street, Garden Street, and Mary Street. The following stops will be closed:

  • All stops on Brock Street between Mary Street and Burns Street
  • Stop #210 (Brock Street southbound at Mary Street)

Temporary stops for Route 302 will be:

  • Mary Street, westbound and eastbound, east of Brock Street
  • Mary Street, westbound, at Garden Street, west of Garden Street
  • Garden Street, southbound, south of Mary Street
  • Garden Street, southbound and northbound, at Dundas Street

DRT has noted that all temporary stops along the detour routes will be served throughout the festival road closure.
