Whitby Man Arrested Following Multiple Probation Breach Allegations

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Whitby on Sunday, July 20, 2025, following multiple alleged breaches of probation, according to Durham Regional Police. Officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence near Chestnut Street East and Perry Street around 7:20 p.m.

Police state that when officers arrived, the suspect had armed himself with a knife and barricaded himself inside the home. Police identified the man as Jordan Wheeler, 27, with no fixed address. He has been charged with eight counts of failing to comply with a probation order and was held for a bail hearing. Durham Regional Police reported that Wheeler was also wanted on several other charges related to a separate, unrelated incident at the time of his arrest.
