Whitby Man Seriously Injured in Early-Morning Single-Vehicle Crash
A 49-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle collision in Whitby on June 28, 2025, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS). The crash occurred at around 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Brock Street North and Clear Spring Road.
The DRPS stated that a Chrysler 300 sedan was travelling north on Brock Street when the driver lost control. The vehicle struck a traffic signal pole, went through a wooden fence, and came to a stop against a tree. Police also reported that the sedan hit multiple parked vehicles in the lot of the Bull Pub and Grill before coming to rest. The driver was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, but his condition was later upgraded to stable, according to police.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to investigate. Police said that alcohol is believed to be a factor, but the collision remains under investigation.
The DRPS has asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Traffic Services Branch. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers.
