Wilmot Creek Vaccine Administration Proposal Supported by Clarington

The Municipality of Clarington has expressed support for the Wilmot Creek Homeowner’s Association's request to utilize the Wilmot Creek Wheelhouse for COVID-19 vaccine administration as part of Phase 1 in Clarington. This proposal was discussed during the General Government Committee meeting on February 16, 2021. The resolution highlights the presence of approximately 1,600 older adults residing in the Wilmot Creek Older Adult Lifestyle Community, many of whom are over eighty years old and may have health conditions that put them at greater risk during the pandemic. The resolution also notes that many older adult lifestyle community residents rely on daily visits from outside workers, increasing their exposure to COVID-19. The proposal will be circulated to relevant health and social services committees and other stakeholders for further consideration. The motion regarding this proposal has been referred to the March 1, 2021, Council meeting for further discussion and decision-making.
