Woman Hospitalized After Reported Domestic Assault in Clarington; Man Charged
A woman is in life-threatening condition and a man is in custody after a reported domestic assault at a residence in Clarington, according to Durham Regional Police. Officers were called to the scene at around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, where they located a female victim with visible injuries. The woman was taken to a trauma centre in the Toronto area.
The incident is being treated as an Intimate Partner Violence assault, according to police. A 36-year-old man from Clarington was arrested at the residence and charged with aggravated assault. He has been held for a bail hearing. Police have withheld the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
