Terran Miller, 23, of Cambridge has been charged after Durham Regional Police allege he used counterfeit Canadian currency to buy gold jewelry through Facebook Marketplace between November 2025 and February 2026. Police say victims across Ontario reported a combined financial loss of more than $27,000.

Durham police say they believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward, and that Miller is also facing similar charges with eight other police services across Ontario.

According to police, the investigation alleges Miller arranged purchases of gold jewelry on Facebook Marketplace, paid sellers with counterfeit cash, and then took possession of the jewelry.

Police said the investigation found the Facebook account names “Slimeoo Miller,” “Ty Johnson,” “Ranny RF,” and “Terran Miller Jr.” were used in the alleged transactions.

Police said Miller turned himself in on Oct. 27, 2026, and was arrested.

Durham police said Miller is charged with three counts of fraud over $5,000 and one count of fraud under $5,000, as well as four counts of uttering counterfeit money. Police also said he is charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police said he was released on an undertaking.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
