Canada's Trade Deficit Widens in August 2024

In August 2024, Canada's international merchandise trade experienced a decline in exports and a slight increase in imports, resulting in a trade deficit. Merchandise exports decreased by 1.0% to $64.3 billion, while imports rose by 0.3% to $65.4 billion. This change widened Canada's trade deficit from $287 million in July to $1.1 billion in August.
