Durham College names Hunter Bennett as winner of $5,000 tuition credit
Hunter Bennett, a first-year Sport Management student at Durham College, has received a $5,000 tuition credit through the college’s annual contest, the school said in an Oct. 16 update.
The college said the contest is open to Durham College applicants who earn entries by attending certain recruitment events or signing up for email communications, information that may be of interest to people considering applying.
According to Durham College, Bennett entered the contest when he attended the school’s Fall Open House in 2025.
In the college’s announcement, Bennett said he chose Sport Management after looking at several post-secondary options. “I decided on Sport Management because I’m hoping to pursue a career in sports marketing after I graduate,” he said.
Durham College said applicants can enter the annual contest by attending eligible events, including Open House and Program Info Nights, or by signing up to receive email communications about the college’s programs and events.
In the same announcement, Durham College President Dr. Elaine Popp linked the contest to recruitment events such as Open House. “Open House gives prospective students a chance to start picturing their future at DC,” Popp said.
The college did not provide additional details in the announcement about how winners are selected.
