Clarington Civic Holiday schedule: most facilities closed Aug. 3, with limited hours at Courtice complex and Orono pool

Clarington’s Municipal Administrative Centre, Hampton Operations Depot, Clarington Animal Shelter and most recreation facilities will be closed on Civic Holiday Monday, Aug. 3, according to a municipal notice. The municipality said two recreation facilities will remain open that day: the Courtice Community Complex from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Orono Park Pool from noon to 5 p.m.

The Civic Holiday schedule affects access to municipal services and recreation options for residents over the long weekend, particularly for those who use municipal facilities or need to make in-person service requests.

For Saturday, Aug. 1, and Sunday, Aug. 2, the Municipality of Clarington said recreation facilities will be open during their regularly scheduled hours and programs will run as scheduled.

The municipality said the Clarington Animal Shelter will be open for regular hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday.

On Monday, the municipality said the Municipal Administrative Centre, Clarington Animal Shelter, Hampton Operations Depot and all other recreation facilities will be closed.

The municipality said Municipal Law Enforcement Officers and Public Works staff will remain on duty Aug. 3 to monitor and respond to urgent service requests and complaints.

Non-urgent matters will be assessed on Tuesday, Aug. 4, according to the notice.
