Diane Hamre Pool to Close for Renovations in December

The Diane Hamre Recreation Complex pool in Clarington will be closed for renovations starting December 3, 2024. The closure is expected to last approximately eight weeks. The primary focus of the renovation is to replace the dehumidification unit, which manages the pool deck's environment, including cooling, humidity, and fresh air. Additional improvements include fresh paint, tile repairs, and updated blinds.

During the closure, additional aquatics programming will be available at the Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre and the Courtice Community Complex. Registration for the winter 2025 aquatics session will open on December 11, with the schedule available online from November 27.

The Clarington Council has also approved plans for a new aquatics facility at the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre as part of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan, which highlights the need for more aquatics programming in the area.
