Divya cumin powder sold in Ontario recalled due to presence of sand, CFIA says
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Divya brand Cumin Powder sold in Ontario due to the presence of sand. The recall date is July 24, 2026, and the notice was originally published July 30, 2026.
The recall affects a shelf-stable spice that may be in home kitchens across Ontario, including in Clarington. The CFIA notice lists specific package details, including the size, UPC, and batch information, to identify the affected product.
According to the CFIA, the recalled item is Divya Cumin Powder in a 400 g package.
The UPC listed in the notice is 6 27810 64589 6.
The CFIA said the affected product is from batch no. DSF / 07 / AJ, with a manufacturing date of Aug. 7, 2024, and an expiry date of July 6, 2026.
The CFIA classified the issue as food—extraneous material. The agency advised people not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.
The recalling firm is Gelda Scientific & Industrial Development Corporation, according to the CFIA.
The agency lists this as a Class 3 recall and provides the identification number RA-82417 for the notice.
