Impaired Driving Arrest Leads to Seizure of Drugs and Weapons in Whitby

On October 6, 2024, at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers from the Central West Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brock Street South and Arthur Street in Whitby. During the stop, officers observed signs of impairment in the driver, who was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a replica firearm, a prohibited spring-loaded knife, and a quantity of drugs.

Deshaun Delano Goss, a 30-year-old resident of Ajax, has been charged with impaired operation, possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), and possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon. Goss was held for a bail hearing.
