Man Arrested After Alleged Threats in Bowmanville

On August 28, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers from East Division, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, responded to a call regarding death threats in the area of Bowmanville Avenue and Hartwell Avenue. A male suspect allegedly harassed and made death threats toward a female. Upon arrival, police located the suspect, who then brandished a knife and made threats toward the officers. The situation was de-escalated, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Miguel Palacios-Ferman, age 69 from Bowmanville, has been charged with two counts of uttering death threats, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and criminal harassment. He was held for a bail hearing.
