A 58-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a carjacking on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, near Concession Road 4 and Elliott Road in Clarington, Durham Regional Police say. Police said officers responded at about 3 p.m. and that the suspects drove off in the victim’s 2026 Nissan Rogue.
Police said the incident involved five to six masked suspects and included an assault and theft of personal items. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed what happened or who has dashcam or surveillance video from the area to come forward.

Police said one suspect reached through the victim’s open window, unlocked the door and forcibly removed him from the vehicle.
The victim was assaulted before the suspects searched his pockets and stole his wallet and cellular phone, police said. Police said investigators learned that several of the suspects were armed with handguns during the incident.
Police said the suspects then took the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
The victim declined medical treatment, police said.
Police described the suspects as five to six males wearing face coverings. Two were wearing all-grey clothing, and three to four were dressed in all-black clothing, police said.
