Police Seek Witnesses for Vandalism at Prince of Wales Park in Whitby
Investigators are seeking public assistance in identifying those responsible for damaging Prince of Wales Park in Whitby. On August 9, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to reports of damage at the park located at 250 Prince of Wales Drive. They found a partially drawn anti-Semitic symbol burned into the grass and a blue container left in the field.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen someone with a blue container in the area to contact them. Those with cellphone, dashcam, or surveillance footage are also encouraged to come forward. Anonymous tips can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, with potential eligibility for a $2,000 reward.
