Robbery and Assault of Youth in Whitby

A 13-year-old male was assaulted by three youths during a robbery in Whitby on September 30, 2024. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. near Robert Attersley Drive East and Archstone Street. According to the Durham Regional Police Service, the victim was at a nearby park when approached by three male suspects who assaulted him and stole personal items, including an e-scooter and clothing. The victim later contacted the police from a nearby residence.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:

  • First suspect: Male, Black, approximately 16 years old, 5’9” tall, medium build, wearing a ski mask, black sweater, black pants, and black shoes.
  • Second suspect: Male, Black, approximately 16 years old, 5’9” tall, wearing a black and white hoodie.
  • Third suspect: Male, Black, approximately 16 years old, 5’9” tall, wearing all black clothing.

The suspects fled the area before police arrived.
