CFIA recalls Compliments Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers over undeclared egg

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says it is recalling Compliments brand Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers because egg is not declared on the label. The product was distributed nationally, and the recall is dated Aug. 27, 2026.

Undeclared egg can be a concern for people with egg allergies. The CFIA notice is aimed at the retail market and identifies the package details and UPC to help customers and stores confirm whether they have the affected product.

The recalled product is sold as Compliments Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers in a 680 g package (8 x 84 g), with UPC 0 55742 58333 5.

The recall applies to packages with any code where egg is not declared on the label, according to the CFIA.

Leadbetter Foods Inc. is the recalling firm, the CFIA said.

The CFIA classified it as a Class 2 recall (ID: RA-82572).

The CFIA advises consumers and businesses not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.
