Durham College plans Nov. 7 open house; staff say on-site applicants will have $150 Ontario Colleges fee covered
Durham College will hold a Fall Open House on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, and staff say people who apply at the event will have the $150 Ontario Colleges application fee covered. A Durham College blog post dated Oct. 16 does not specify whether the open house will be held at the Oshawa campus or the Whitby campus.
For local residents considering college programs, the open house is expected to include campus tours and opportunities to speak with representatives from academic faculties and service areas, including admissions and financial aid, according to the Oct. 16 post.
Rachel Beerman, a student recruitment marketing specialist, wrote that “all our academic faculties and service areas” will be available during the event.
Daniela Ruscica, also a student recruitment marketing specialist, wrote that visitors can meet faculty members and tour “shops and labs.” Ruscica said each academic faculty will have a booth or staff available in labs and classrooms.
The post also includes information about financial aid. Senior recruitment specialist Nicole Davidson wrote that Durham College’s Financial Aid team has access to more than $5 million each year for scholarships, bursaries and awards.
Davidson wrote that the Financial Aid team coordinates an on-campus employment program and administers the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Davidson added that Financial Aid staff will be available at the open house to meet with attendees and answer questions.
In the same post, Davidson wrote that “60% of full-time learners at DC are mature students.”
