Clarington issues burn ban due to poor air quality and reduced visibility
Clarington Emergency and Fire Services has issued a burn ban for all of Clarington, effective Wednesday, July 15, 2026, due to poor air quality and reduced visibility from ongoing wildfires in Canada.
The ban affects residents and property owners across the municipality because it restricts outdoor burning during conditions that the fire service says reduce visibility and affect air quality.
The burn ban prohibits all types of burning, including burning on properties with active burn permits and recreational fires.
The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
