Clarington outlines Labour Day weekend closures; Orono Park Pool open Sept. 7

Clarington municipal offices and recreation facilities will be closed for Labour Day on Monday, Sept. 7, while Orono Park Pool will be open for a public swim from noon to 5 p.m.

The municipality released its holiday schedule on Sept. 2 to outline what services will be available over the Sept. 5–7 weekend, including which staff will continue responding to urgent issues on the holiday Monday.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, Clarington recreation facilities will be open during regular hours, and programs will run as scheduled, the municipality said.

The Clarington Animal Shelter will be open for regular hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday, according to the notice.

On Monday, Sept. 7, the Municipal Administrative Centre, Hampton Operations Depot, the Clarington Animal Shelter and all recreation facilities will be closed.

Orono Park Pool will be open that day for a public swim from noon to 5 p.m.

Municipal Law Enforcement Officers and Public Works staff will remain on duty Monday to monitor and respond to urgent service requests and complaints, the municipality said.

Non-urgent matters will be assessed on Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to the municipal notice.
