Clarington to open Sept. 2 registration for adult co-ed indoor soccer league in South Bowmanville

Clarington will run an adult co-ed indoor soccer league this fall at the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre’s multi-sport dome, with games scheduled on Fridays between 9 and 10 p.m. Team registration opens Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at 7 a.m.

The league is the first offering under a new municipal program called Clarington Sports Leagues. The municipality says more than 1,400 people responded to a programming survey last year for the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre, and sports leagues were among the most requested offerings.

The inaugural season is open to adults 18 and older and will be delivered in partnership with Darlington Soccer Club.

Games will be played 7-versus-7 on a quarter field. Matches are scheduled for 50 minutes, split into two 25-minute halves.

Teams are guaranteed 22 games, including playoffs, and games will be officiated and supervised.

The municipality bills the league as recreational and open to a range of experience levels.

Teams must have at least three self-identified women on the field at all times.

Clarington says it may add other leagues in the future for different sports, age groups and interests, depending on community interest and available resources.
