Construction underway for new traffic signals at West Side Drive and Baseline Road in Bowmanville
Construction is underway at the intersection of West Side Drive and Baseline Road in Bowmanville as crews install new traffic signals, with work expected to finish by the end of November and some work continuing into spring 2027, according to the Municipality of Clarington.
The municipality said drivers should expect traffic disruptions at the intersection during construction, including lane reductions, short-term closures and possible delays.
Clarington said the work includes installing traffic poles and signals, electrical conduit and other equipment. The project also includes removing and replacing sections of concrete sidewalk, line painting and boulevard restoration.
Timelines may change because of weather and other factors, the municipality said.
The municipality said the project is meant to support changing traffic patterns around the new Bowmanville Community Complex.
J.J. McGuire is the contractor listed for the work.
