DRT detours Route 227 in Ajax starting Oct. 30 due to Shoal Point Road weight restrictions
Durham Region Transit has detoured Route 227 in Ajax effective Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, because of weight restrictions on Shoal Point Road south of Ashbury Boulevard. The detour is in place until further notice.
The change affects riders who use Route 227 along Range Line Road and near Pickering Beach Road and Dreyer, and the transit agency says customers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
Under the detour, Route 227 trips will travel via Shoal Point Road, Bayly Street and Pickering Beach Road, according to a service alert posted by Durham Region Transit.
Stops on Range Line Road will not be served during the detour.
Stop #94290 — Pickering Beach Road southbound at Dreyer — will also not be served.
A temporary stop will be placed on Dreyer Drive, eastbound at Pickering Beach Road, Durham Region Transit said.
