Durham College lists Sept. 1–4 Academic Welcome sessions and Sept. 9–10 Services Fairs in Oshawa and Whitby

Durham College will hold faculty-specific Academic Welcome sessions for new students from Sept. 1 to 4, 2026, and will host its “Start Strong at DC Services Fair” on Sept. 9 at the Oshawa campus and Sept. 10 at the Whitby campus, according to information posted by the college.

The dates outline some of the main orientation-related events leading into the start of the fall term and include an online first-year course with a Sept. 30 deadline tied to a prize draw.

The Academic Welcome sessions are half-day events organized by faculty. Durham College’s post says the sessions will include opportunities for students to meet their faculty team and classmates and learn about their program.

The same post directs new students to complete PREP 1000, described as a first-year experience course. The course covers registering and paying fees, using DC Connect, and accessing services including Student Academic Learning Services, the Campus Health and Wellness Centre, and the Access and Support Centre.

Students who complete PREP 1000 by Sept. 30, 2026, will be entered in a draw for a $250 gift card for the Campus Store or DC Eats, the college’s post says.

Durham College says the “Start Strong at DC Services Fair” is open to all students and will take place on Sept. 9 at the Oshawa campus and Sept. 10 at the Whitby campus.

The post also lists other early-semester events by name — Campus Cup, Movie Night on the Lawn, The Main Stage, Campus Con 5, and Campus Rec Day — but does not provide dates or locations for those events.
