Durham College lists study spaces, research help and equipment loans at Oshawa and Whitby campus libraries

Durham College’s campus libraries in Oshawa and Whitby offer research support, study spaces, equipment loans and online resources for students, according to a Sept. 4, 2026 post on the college’s website.

For students using the Oshawa or Whitby campuses, the post outlines what is available beyond book lending, including help with research and citations, places to study, and items that can be borrowed for coursework.

The college says library staff can help students find articles, e-books, course materials and other sources for assignments, projects and presentations. The post also says staff can help with research skills, citations, locating standards and codes, and understanding how to use AI tools responsibly in academic work. Durham College also lists accessible content and adaptive technology among the services offered.

Students can borrow items such as phone charging cables, laptops, calculators, chargers, external hard drives, podcast kits and therapy lights, the post states. Safety glasses are available to borrow at the Whitby campus library, according to the college.

At the Oshawa campus library, Durham College lists silent study areas, group study rooms and collaborative spaces, along with computer workstations, 3D printing and a Digital Media Recording Room. The Oshawa library also offers printing, scanning and photocopying services, the post says.

The Whitby campus library has study carrels, open work tables and seating, according to Durham College.

The post says students also have access to online resources, including scholarly articles, e-books, journals, streaming video collections, databases and program-specific resources.

In addition to academic materials, Durham College lists leisure reading, streaming movies and documentaries, board games and a “de-stress desk” with crafts and activities as available through the libraries.
