Emergency Preparedness Week Takes Place May 4–10 in Durham Region

Emergency Preparedness Week will be observed in Durham Region from May 4 to 10. According to Durham Region officials, the week is recognized across Canada and encourages residents to consider their ability to take care of themselves and their families for at least 72 hours in the event of an emergency.

Officials state that Emergency Preparedness Week aims to raise awareness about personal emergency readiness. During this time, residents are asked to evaluate their preparedness to manage without outside assistance if a situation should arise.
