Library-Museum Merger in Clarington

The General Government Committee of Clarington has approved the merger of the Clarington Museum and Archives with the Clarington Public Library. Effective January 1, 2020, the responsibility for the assets currently managed by the Clarington Museum and Archives Board will be transferred to the Clarington Public Library Board. The Clarington Museum and Archives Board will be dissolved, and By-law 2012-093 will be repealed. This decision was made during the committee meeting held on November 25, 2019, and was moved by Councillor Hooper and seconded by Councillor Anderson. The committee's resolution aims to streamline operations and enhance service delivery to the community.
