Mayor says NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returning to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Labour Day weekend 2027
Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster said in an Aug. 24, 2026 statement that the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is “coming back to Clarington” to race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on the 2027 Labour Day weekend, after what he described as a seven-year break.
The statement is the first public notice from the municipality about the series’ return and points to a major event weekend at the track in 2027.
Foster’s statement did not include a specific race date for the 2027 Labour Day weekend, or details about the schedule or ticketing.
In the statement, Foster also made an attendance claim, saying “tens of thousands of race fans from across Canada and the northern United States” would come for the event.
Foster also referred to local business owners in his comments and said he expects “economic benefit,” but the statement did not provide a dollar figure or an economic-impact estimate.
The posting appeared on the Municipality of Clarington’s website as a “Mayor’s Statement” and did not include a statement from NASCAR.
