Clarington sets Oct. 3 open house for Bowmanville Community Complex
The Municipality of Clarington will hold an open house for the Bowmanville Community Complex on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m. at 1 West Side Drive in Bowmanville.
The open house is scheduled ahead of the start of regular programming and rentals at the facility, which the municipality says will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13.
The facility is officially named the Bowmanville Community Complex and was previously known as the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre, according to the municipality.
Clarington says visitors at the Oct. 3 event will be able to see inside a FIFA-sized multi-sport dome and learn about other amenities planned for the site. The municipality also says people will be able to register for fall recreation programs during the open house.
Drivers are to enter the new parking lot from Green Road, the municipality said.
Clarington says the multi-sport dome and an indoor walking track are set to open Oct. 3, with programming starting Oct. 13.
As finishing work continues on additional spaces in the main building, the municipality says it will announce programs for the gymnasium and multi-purpose rooms.
The municipality says an outdoor refrigerated skating trail is planned as part of the complex.
Clarington says an aquatics centre and additional multi-purpose rooms are planned to open in 2027, and the existing lacrosse bowl is also planned to reopen in 2027.
