Two Pickering Youths Charged in Ajax Robbery

Two young males from Pickering have been charged following an incident involving a robbery at knife-point in Ajax. The event took place on October 16, 2024, around 6:40 p.m. near Rossland Road West and Church Street North. According to police reports, two male youths allegedly stole a scooter from a 13-year-old boy. When the victim confronted them, the suspects reportedly threatened him with a knife. Officers from the West Division, aided by Air1, located the suspects nearby and arrested them without incident. The victim was unharmed.

The individuals charged are a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both from Pickering. They face charges of robbery and have been released on an Undertaking. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking further information from the public. Anyone with relevant cell phone, dashcam, or surveillance footage is encouraged to contact the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch.

Ontario Tech University in Oshawa was named Most Sustainably Improved University in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and also received a sustainability award from the Region of Durham, the university announced December 19. UI GreenMetric evaluates universities worldwide on environmental performance, infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. The regional award
