Durham Region Hosts Public Works Events on May 24
Durham Region will hold community events for National Public Works Week on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The events will take place at Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant in Pickering and the Durham York Energy Centre in Courtice.
Attendees can participate in various activities, including a Touch-a-Truck event, equipment demonstrations, and facility tours. A simulator experience will be available at the Duffin Creek location.
These events are part of a celebration observed by municipalities across North America, recognizing the contributions of Public Works departments. John Henry, Regional Chair and CEO, has officially proclaimed the week of May 18 to 24 as National Public Works Week.
