The Municipality of Clarington has stated that it does not send notifications about unpaid parking tickets via text or email.

If residents receive such messages, they are advised not to click on any links or provide personal or financial information. For verification of any parking tickets, residents can contact the Municipality directly.

Additionally, the Durham Regional Police Service offers resources and tips for protecting oneself against fraud. Some recommended precautions include:

  • Never provide personal information over the phone unless the identity of the caller has been confirmed.
  • Change passwords frequently.
